About this role
Barge operator position at a waste processing and recycling facility in Rotterdam. You will receive, inspect, and prepare waste streams for transport, operate handling equipment, assist with vessel mooring, perform equipment maintenance, and maintain safety standards. You report to the Logistics & Transport Team Lead and work in a fast-paced logistics environment focused on safety and precision.
What you'll likely bring
- Ability to accept, inspect, and transfer incoming waste materials
- Capability to identify discrepancies and ensure proper loading of transport vessels (push barges)
- Experience transporting push barges
- Ability to assist with mooring and unmooring of vessels
- Competence in operating, monitoring, and performing basic maintenance on machinery
- Willingness to respond to equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot issues
- Ability to conduct inspection rounds and respond to unsafe conditions or incidents
