Engineering Manager - Research Engineering

    Flow Traders is strengthening leadership across its Research Engineering department and is hiring an Engineering Manager. Research Engineers conduct applied research jointly with quants to deliver our trading models and research platform. As the firm scales, the quality of engineering management has become one of the most important factors in how well our teams grow, retain talent, and deliver - and this role exists to raise that bar. Engineering Managers are accountable for the planning and people side of the organisation - project deliveries, growth, performance, culture and hiring - and partner with technical leads who own architecture, technical direction, and hands-on execution. The two work in close partnership; neither succeeds without the other. You will be measured on the engineers you develop and the outcomes your team delivers. You will spend the large majority of your time leading people and managing delivery.     What you will do: Own the roadmap: manage priorities, planning, and sequencing of the work in line with company goals. Develop your engineers: own career planning, promotions, coaching, and structured, continuous performance management. Plan and build the team: lead hiring, headcount planning, and resource allocation in line with the team's roadmap and the firm's priorities. Cultivate a healthy team: actively manage culture, morale, and productivity, and address conflict early and constructively. Lead with rhythm: hold regular one
